DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS BUILDING, UNIVERSITY OF PATRAS
The new building of the Department of Economics is planned on a 5000m² plot and has a total area of 4900 m². The new complex comprises teaching and office areas, 2 long-span and 2 smaller amphitheatres. From a structural point of view, it consists of 9 independent structures; the material selected for the framing system of 6 of those is reinforced concrete; on the other hand, the 2 single story long-span buildings have composite concrete-steel roof with concrete columns and shear walls.
