Strengthening and retrofitting

RESTORATION AND REFURBISHMENT OF REGIONAL BRAND OFFICE BUILDING AND PREFECTORAL HEALTH AND SOCIAL SECURITY UNIT IN 64, PIREOS Str., ATHENS
The strengthening is based on the new regulations, particularly on the KAN.EPE (the greek structural guidelines for building restorations). The project was the first high-rise building constructed in Athens in the early '50s. Proffessors K. BIRIS (Arch.) and P. LADOPOULOS (Stat.) were the original consultants. The building has been characterized as a "listed building" by the Ministry of Culture. All the proposed interventions were drawn from a PUSH-OVER, non-linear static analysis. The identification of the structural system preceded the analysis, due to insufficient structural element information. The study was carried out in collaboration with OMETE & PARTNERS S.A.
